چکیده

Engine downsizing is a trusted method to reduce fuel consumption and pollution emitted from internal combustion engines. In this method, engine displacement volume reduced while maintaining the same power/torque characteristics. However, there still exist several limitations utilize technology. paper, naturally aspirated type of Iran national (EF7-NA) investigated for possible downsized version. A one-dimensional model equipped with zero-dimensional two-zone sub-model was developed validated via experimental results both natural turbocharged types. Then numerical studies were carried out primary concept, deactivation one cylinder besides using turbocharger. To overcome concept shortages, especially in lower ranges speed, extended. Deployment turbochargers different performance maps valve timing dual CVVT system investigated. The showed that feasible EF7 3-cylinder modified turbocharger timing. maximum difference between base-engine version torque about 7% low speeds.

Experimental study of piston scuffing effect on engine performance parameters

Piston scuffing is one of the destructive faults in internal combustion (IC) engines. There are different causes to make this fault that lack of lubricant is the most important one among them. The purpose of this paper is the quantitative study of the piston scuffing effects on the engine performance parameters which is a new research direction in the IC engine filed. For this reason, several e...

LES study of deflagration to detonation mechanisms in a downsized spark ignition engine

Using 15 LES cycles of a high load / low speed spark ignition engine operating point, two different fresh gases autoignition regimes called knock and super-knock are analyzed. A direct “a posteriori” analysis of pressure waves and autoignition heat release observed in LES is proposed. It reveals that low to moderate knock intensity, corresponding to late spark timings (ST) is characterized by o...

Tests at Subsonic Speeds on a Half-Wing with a Fan Engine Nacelle

SUMMARY Flutter tests have been made on a half-wing model with a fan-engine nacelle attached by a pylon at an inboard section. The model was nominally rigid and flexibilities in pitch and roll were introduced at the root. Measurements were made of the flutter characteristics of the model at Mach numbers of 0.6 and 0.8 over a range of dynamic pressures using three different methods of analysis. ...

Emission Performance of a Diesel Engine Running on Biodiesel Fuel at Different Compression Ratios

In the present study emission performance of a diesel engine (Lister Petter) was evaluated at different compression ratios and engine loads with soybean methyl ester and its 25%, 50%, 75% blends with diesel fuel at constant speed 1500 rpm. Exhaust emissions included CO, CO2, HC and NOx. The compression ratio and engine load varied from 14 to 20 with an interval 1 and 25 to...
